Sunday Chidzambwa has resigned from his position as head coach of Zimbabwe.
Reports in Zimbabwe News Media say Chidzambwa tendered in his resignation to Zifa this afternoon with less than a week before the nation team play Mauritius in the Chan Qualifiers.
Chidzambwa who was appointed as coach of the Warriors in December 2017 has been under pressure from fans calling for his dismissal.
Zimbabwe were eliminated in the group stages of the 2019 Total Africa Cup of Nations causing an uproar among fans back home.
He had led the team to the finals, finishing as group leaders in the qualifiers and also won the Cosafa Cup in 2018 and in 2017 as an interim coach.
Meanwhile, Zifa are yet to make a statement on the issue and confirm the new coach who will guide the Warriors during the Chan qualifiers.
