Kabwe Warriors lost to Napsa last week out in Lusaka and you could feel for Elijah Chikwanda in his post-match interview where he bemoaned registration challenges that made him chose what he called was a makeshift team. Chikwanda starts with serious challenges with the quarter of some fans already calling for his exit and asking the exco to bring back Chintu Kampamba.
I don’t think he will be bothered by such reactions from fans for now rather his concentration will be on this rejuvenated Lusaka Dynamos. It’s not an easy fixture and Lusaka Dynamos will be hoping for a win to get them back to the top, but that won’t happen this weekend as they are five points from league leaders NAPSA. Lusaka Dynamos have one loss in the last six and the other five are victories.
Kabwe Warriors will start this fixture from relegation zone and not even a draw will be enough to get them off that dreaded zone. Should Chikwanda get his first win, he will need help from Napsa beating Nakambala and Konkola Blades defeating Nchanga Rangers, all away games if he is to get out of the relegation zone.
Am not seeing that happening and the more likelihood winner in this contest is Lusaka Dynamos. We have also seen the inefficiencies of Lusaka Dynamos going forward and playing away from home will be another challenge. They miss out Cletus Chama who will be with the National Team on Saturday and unless measures are to be done to rush him to Kabwe after the national team encounter, Lusaka Dynamos looks to be struggling without Chota Chama in the midfield. The defense of Lusaka Dynamos is also suspect as seen from the number of goals allowed so far.
This looks like another draw for both teams and Kabwe Warriors still leading on the number of draws recorded so far this season. Can Chikwanda get his first win?
