Kabwe Mayor Prince Chileshe has pledged to support Kabwe Warriors Football Club and ensure that the team survives relegation.
Chileshe who made a donation of one thousand kwacha towards the Membership fundraising drive held before the Week 29 FAZ League game between Kabwe Warriors and Nkana over the weekend also bought refreshments for the supporters at the stadium.
The Mayor exclusively told soka25east.com that he was moved after learning that Kabwe Warriors was struggling financially.
“My desire is to find time in my schedule to travel with the team during the away games and also contribute weekly during home games,” Chileshe said.
Kabwe Warriors recently revealed that it has been making financial losses in gate takings.
The Mayor’s gesture comes at the time when Kabwe Warriors are in real dire need of stakeholders to come to the rescue of the legendary club.
