The Zambia National team has intensified Preparations for the July 26 Championship of African Nations (CHAN) Qualifier against Botswana.
National team assistant coach Mumamba Numba says the inclusion of Larry Bwalya and Kelvin Kampamba will add value to the squad.
Numba said with some players having become ineligible for the CHAN qualification after trekking to foreign leagues there was need to beef up the squad.
“We are looking at some players who have left to play abroad, that is why we thought of bringing Kelvin (Kampamba) and Larry (Bwalya). They are good players who can add value to the team that is why we called them,” he said.
He also expressed delight at the hundred percent turnout by all the players summoned for duty.
“We have a full house, we are very happy that everyone has reported. We have called a few more players just to have a wider selection so that we have the best possible players to represent mother Zambia,” Numba said.
The team will be away to Botswana on July 26 before hosting the Zebras at National Heroes Stadium on August 3 in the return leg.
Winner over two legs will play either Angola or Eswatini in the final qualifying round for the Cameroon 2020 CHAN.
Numba has been drilling the team in the absence on head coach Aggrey Chiyangi who is on club duty in Kigali for the CECAFA Club championships.
