Finally a their seems to be light at the end of the tunnel for the Zambia National team as a new coach may be named next week. This is according to the Football Association of Zambia [FAZ] general Secretary Ponga Liwewe. Mr Liwewe said this when he featured on the Zambia national Broadcasting Corporation [ZNBC] TV2’s Morning live programme.

“The process of interviews has gone on well and next week a coach may be named.” He said Ponga further added that government had been engaged by FAZ for funding of the coach’s emoluments as traditionally the state funded the salary of the Zambia national team coach.

A total of three Coaches have been interviewed so far with a few others expected to be interviewed within the course of this week. The Coaches that have been interviewed are South
African Gordon Igesund, Frenchman Sebastian Desabre and swiss Raoul Savoy.

One of the coaches expected to be interviewed is Veteran Philipe Troussier. Troussier has coached around Africa at both Club and National Team level. He is also the one that won Japan the 2000 Asian Cup.
