Christmas comes early for Zambian Export Strikers

Christmas may not be until Friday but for Zambian strikers playing outside the country its Christmas fever as most of them have scored to help their teams win vital points.Orlando pirates On-loan Striker to Golden Arrows Mwape Musonda scored the only goal of the game as they beat Polokwane city 1-0.

Musonda scored in the 24th minute from cross range. He was found unmarked in the 18 yard area.Musonda put the ball into the top left corner of the goal to open his PSL account for the season.

Zambia’s best striker in the last 10 years Collins ”King David” Mbesuma was also on target.Mbesuma scored in the 41st minute to take his goal tally to 7 for the season and maintain top spot on the topscorers log.Mbesuma could have had hatrick but fine goal keeping in the 25th minute and good defending in the second half denied him.

Its just exactly 10 years since Mbesuma made the record for most goals in the PSL (35).If he can continue with this rich vein of form he can surely win the golden boot though its too early to call.

Former Nkana Talisman Evans Kangwa scored the only goal of the game in Hapoel Rannana’s 1 nil home win at the 13800 capacity Winner Stadium over Bnei Sakhnin. This was Kangwa’s 6th goal of the season in 13 games.Hapoel Rannana are 4th on the log with 25 points 7 away from leaders Hapoel be’er Shev.

Roger Kola started his 4th game of the 12 games he has played for his Greek team Veria. The 26 year old Striker did not worst any time as he opened his Greek league campaign in th 22nd minute.Veria have now moved to 10th on the log.Kola was substituted in additional time but is goal was enough as the game ended Veria 1-0 Asteras Tripolis.
