City thrash hapless KCB 3-1 to register first win of the season, Oscar Mbugua opened scoring for the Kawangware based side in the first half before second half substitute Sanneh Ebrima grabbed a brace to secure the three points; Raymond Murugi who wasted a chance to equalize for KCB in the first half from the spot scored the consolation goal in the 59th minute.
City coach Paul Nkata was delighted in the huge conquest; “I feel proud, you know it’s not easy winning a game as I said it was going to be a do or die match and we worked as a team.”
KCB standing in Coach Elvis Ayany on the other hand was a disappointed man, he blamed his side for the many scoring chances they failed to convert; “we are very bitter about that game because first half we got the chances but we did not score, we failed to score a penalty. We need to work on our mentality, player’s mentality needs to be strong moving forward.”
The two sides are still languishing in the relegation zone with 4 points apiece from 8 rounds of matches.
