Tunisian football giants Club Africain have parted ways with head coach Betnard Marchard after only five months in charge.
The club confirmed on their official facebook page on Tuesday the Frenchman’s contract had been terminated by mutual consent.
“It was agreed to amicably terminate the contract between coach Bertrand Marchand and Club Africain,” said the CA in a brief statement.
It was second stint for Marchard having previously coached the El Menzah outfit between 2005-2007.
He won the African Champions League with another Tunisian club, Etoile Sportive du Sahel (ESS) in 2007. In 2010 he was the coach of the national team of Tunisia.
The club is currently in third position with ten points between them and already confirmed champions Esperance of Tunis.
Marchand has already attracted new suitors with Algerian club USM though their director, Abdelhakim Serrar, confirming that they have contacted his agent in their quest to strengthen their technical bench.
“I told him that I would like to speak directly with Mr. Marchand, and we will be ready by noon tomorrow, and Mr. Marchand has a profile that interests us.”
