Mamelodi Sundowns coach has been ranked 10th globally – a place above Arsenal’s Arsene Wenger.
Diego Simeone of Atletico Madrid tops the IFFHS ranking followed by Real Madrid’s Zinedine Zidane.
Pitso, 52, guided “the Brazilians” to maiden CAF Champions League glory – crowining a memorable year 2016, which also saw them bag the Premier Soccer League (PSL) of South Africa and a domestic cup.
The former midfielder is in contention for coach of the year award during CAF gala awards in January, and this recognition sets him apart from the rest.
Sundowns and Ugandan keeper Denis Onyango was also ranked 10th by the same body.
