Constant Omari steps down as FECOFA President

Congolese Football Association President Constant Omari has left his post at the Country’s Football governing body.

During a press briefing organized on Wednesday June 16, 2021, the President Omari Selemani, officially announced ‘the decision to return the apron and leave FECOFA.’

“It is since March 2021 that I began my reflection on this subject, the day after the elimination of the Leopards in Gabon. I told myself that it was time that I could leave the Federation to leave it to another generation and to other colleagues in order to complete the work, together undertaken,” Omari said.

President Constant Omari added:“ I have been in football for more than 25 years where I have climbed all the levels, from the club to the Federation through the entities at the national level; on the continent, from the committees to the interim of the President of CAF and, at the world level, likewise, to the ad interim Vice-Presidency of the FIFA Council.

“I consider myself to have known all the directional paths up to to reach the summits of football management at the level of the various apex bodies, ” he underlined in substance.

Having requested the meditation of a minute of silence and a pious thought towards all the football players who have passed on throughout his management at FECOFA at the start of his press briefing, Constant Omari Selemani went through, cursively, some of his great achievements at the head of FECOFA in the areas of administration, finance and sponsorship, technique and development, competitions, infrastructure, management of national teams Les Léopards, morality and sports ethics.
