Namibia narrowly beat Angola by a single goal at the 2017 Mopani Cosafa-U20 Championships in their opening Group game played at Arthur Stadium, in Kitwe today.
Enzo Mungende scored for Namibia in the 14th minute from a freekick to give the Young Brave Warriors all the important points to move to the top of Group C.
Angola couldn’t find the breakthrough they needed to tie the match as Namibia hang on for a vital 3 points.
The Namibians are 2 points clear of their close rivals Zimbabwe and Lesotho after the first round of Fixtures.
The victory puts them in the driving seat and are one win away from progressing to the next round if they beat Lesotho in their next Fixture on 10 December 2017 at the Nkana Stadium.
