Neighbours Zimbabwe and Zambia this afternoon Friday 15 September 2017 played out to a 1 all draw at the Barbourfileds Stadium in the second Group A game at the on going 2017 Cosafa Women’s Championship.
The hosts were put on the back foot as Barbara Banda gave the Zambians a first half lead much to the delight of coach Albert Kachinga.
Banda struck on 26 minutes to get her third goal of the tournament.
The hosts came back fighting in the second half, Rutendo Makore restored parity on 51 minutes.
Both sides had chances to win the match but it ended 1-1 in Bulawayo, earning a point each to send the points tally to 4 though Zimbabwe remain top of the group on goal difference.
Next up for Zambia is Madagascar while Zimbabwe tackle Malawi on Sunday 17 September 2017.
