The Copper Queens of Zambia produced another high scoring game as they beat Mauritius 15-0 in their opening game of the 2019 COSAFA Women’s Championship at Wolfson Stadium in Port Elizabeth.
Striker Rachel Nachula scored 8 goals for the Zambians with five assists as Grace Chanda also got a brace. Rhoda Chileshe, Helen Chanda, Mary Mwakapila and Theresa Chewe all got in on the act as the game saw an own goal to round off a 15-0 thumping.
Eight goal hero Rachael Nachula says she still has a lot more goals to offload at the on-going Cosafa Women Championship.
Nachula was in devastating form as she posted eight goals as Zambia thumped Mauritius 15-0 in their opening Group B match in Port Elizabeth at Wolfson Stadium.
The Green Buffaloes striker was named Player of the Match as she became the leading scorer at the tournament so far.
“It feels good to score for my country and I want to thank my team mates for the team work. It is not the end there are still more goals coming, “she said.
Nachula said the team was now focusing on their next match against Namibia on Saturday.
“Our coaches have told us not to underrate any opponent in our group. We shall take every game seriously,” she said.
