Eric Bailly has penned a contract extension with Manchester United.
According to Sky Sports News the Ivory Coast international has signed a new deal that will keep him contracted to the club until the end of the 2021-22 season.
Bailly’s contract was set to expire at the end of the current campaign, but the Red Devils exercised an option to extend the 25-year-old’s stay at Old Trafford.
The centre-back has only recently returned from injury and has yet to play for the club this season. He made the bench for United’s trip to Anfield this past weekend, but failed to feature in the 2-0 loss.
Bailly arrived at the club on a £30 million transfer from Villarreal four years ago, but has made just 74 appearances with injury and irregular form overshadowing his stay at the club thus far.
The contract extension, though, will come as a timely boost for the defender who hopes to feature regularly in coming months as United aim to climb up the Premier League standings.
