Coton Sport of Garoua has been crown champions of the 2017/2018 MTN Elite One Professional Football league of Cameroon.
With four playing days left to the end of the championship, the Cotonnites have 62points, 12 points clear of runners up, Union Movement Sportif of Loum. The Garoua boys sealed the deal during the 30th day of play where they trashed Unisport of Bafang 4-0.
Despite the victory, UMS Loum cannot catch up with the giant of the North Region of Cameroon. With four days and 12 points difference, Coton Sport benefits from the particular goal average, having beaten his dolphin in return.
It is worth nothing that Coton Sport has never waited for a long time to clinch the title given that they were lastly crowned champions in 2015. Since its creation in 1997, the club has won 15 championships.
