Morocco have with immediate effect suspended football related activities in the country due to the outbreak of the Coronavirus.
The Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) have announce that it is suspending all football competitions in the country until further notice.
The FRMF had previously announced that all football game will be played without supporters but have u-turned after FIFA recommended to all its members to consider postponing football matches to help combat the COVID-19 Virus.
Morocco has reported seven cases of the coronavirus and it is in this regard the FRMF have had no choice but to call off all football matches in the country.
The Democratic Republic of Congo are the only country thathave also seen its league games postponed for 30 days due to the pandemic.
South Africa says its games will go ahead, including Egypt and Algeria.
The World Health Organization has however stated that Africa is not yet a high risk area. But Europe is now the epicenter of the outbreak, Morocco have taken the measure understandably so because of its proximity to Europe.
CAF have recently announced that all the 2021 2021 AFCON qualifiers set to take place during the international break in late March, have been postponed and are also considering to postpone the 2020 African Nations Championship (CHAN) taking place in Cameroon between April 4 and 25.
A lot of major leagues in Europe have been suspended as a result of the outbreak including the English Premier League, Serie A, Ligue 1, The UEFA Champions League, and the Europa League.
