‘We traveled to Madagascar for the first leg which we unfortunately lost. We shall remain focused and look forward to overturning the result at Namboole Stadium”, said Micho.
The Cranes players who resumed training on Wednesday evening will be engaged in the return leg on 31st May 2014 at Namboole Stadium.
Micho expects the return of experienced players-striker Geofrey Massa and goal keeper Robert Odongkara who were both injured and missed the first leg.
On left back position Micho clarified that Godfrey Walsuimbi will still be sidelined as CAF asserted that he has to miss two physically played games from the red card he picked up against Senegal during the 2014 FIFA cup qualification campaign.
The head coach also promised a positive return leg where attack and defense will be the foundation to ensure progress to the next round where the winner faces Equatorial Guinea or Mauritania. Mauritania won the first leg 1 – 0 at home.
The federation has already engaged Denis Onyango’s South African club and Tonny Mawejje ‘s Norwegian team to ensure they release the players for the upcoming game.
