Crisis at VILLA as Coach Gets Relegated to Scouting Agent:

flores
Sc villa head coach Antonio Flores has been relieved of his duties and given new responsibilities as a scouting agent for the club with immediate effect. Coach Ibrahim kirya , Phillip Obwiny, Valley Mugwanya and Phillip Ssozi will now take charge of the team under close supervision of technical chairman frank’ video’ Anyau.
Flores, a Spaniard was surprisingly elevated from being the club’s international scout to a head coach of the 16 record league champions four months back.
His sacking follows the departure of his assistant Francisco Martinez who went back to Spain a few weeks ago under unclear circumstances.
In the Spaniard’s tenure at Villa Park, he has played three cup finals and lost all of them in post match shoot-outs.
He was beaten by UPL returnees Maroons FC in IDD Cup, Vipers SC in FUFA Super Cup and the latest being KCCA FC in Independence Cup.
The Jogoos are just one place above relegation on the 16 team UPL log with a meager 8 points from seven games played so far.
Out of seven games, Villa has only won twice, drawn two and lost three scoring six and conceding seven goals in the police.
Club Chief Executive Officer and the head of public relations, Ivan Kakembo issued a statement on Wednesday;
‘’Sports Club Villa Jogoo Uganda and Antonio Flores have today reached a mutual understanding to end the latter’s head coach obligations. He remains part of us as a club ambassador and marketer of our players in Europe.
We thank Mr. Flores for the time he has coached SC Villa and wish him the best in his coaching endeavors’’.
Last season the Uganda cup holders sacked two coaches Steven Bogere and Sam Simbwa under unclear circumstances and later relegated Ibrahim Kirya who had won the Uganda Cup with the club as care taker coach to number three to accommodate Flores and Martinez.
SC Villa hosts red hot Express FC  in the premier league at Nakivubo stadium on Friday, 30th October 2015 just two days after falling 2-1 to Soana FC.
