David “Calabar” Owino impressive as Zesco go joint top in the Zambian league

Kenyan international David Owino aka Calabar  continued to cement his position in the Zesco’s backline when he clocked 90 minutes in the 2-1 win over Nakambala Leopards away in Lusaka.

The three points pushed the Ndola based side joint top in points in the Zambian Super League with 17 points from 7 matches with Zanaco enjoying a better goal difference.

Wiston Kalengo opened scoring for the visitors in 40th minute before Jackson Mwanza doubled the lead in the opening minutes of the second half; Junior Zulu scored the consolation goal for the hosts.

Zesco is unbeaten in 7 fixtures same as joint leaders Zanaco while Leopards is winless and rock bottom in the league.

Calabar who was cristened the name after an impressive outing away in Nigeria where Kenya held the Super Eagles with joined Zesco early this season from Kenyan Premier League champions Gor Mahia where he was the key playert.
