Things dont seem to be rosy at CAF after only 13 members out of the strong 23-man CAF Executive committee attended the exco meeting in Doha,Qatar on Friday 14th February 2020 chaired by CAF President Ahmad Ahmad.
 
CAF according to insiders  is embroiled in internal football  political strife following accusations of graft by some top officials of the African footbal body.

The force fanning the fire of dissension is not relenting. Perhaps CAF  is elated to war against itself.

 The philosophy that ‘failure is success delayed’ did not inspire CAF  to look ahead, to another day just three years after getting an overwhelming vote to dethrown then incumbent Issa Hayatou.

Instead, barely three years after the elections CAF Exco   members and officials chose to trade barbs, among themselves. This is contrary to what people thought the new office bearers  would be offering and offcourse it all about those that feel the corruption is tainting their name against those complicit and protecting the vice.


Key players in the football administration in Africa  failed to attend the exco meeting which came just few  days after the astonishing revelations by PwC on financially complicit officials who seem to have turned the CAF coffers as their new  cookie jar and cash cow.

A source told www.soka25east.com that  venue for the  CAF  meeting in Doha was changed at the last minute. Instead of taking place at the Sheraton hotel it took place at the Hilton hotel in Doha.

Key opinion shapers that include FIFA council member Tarek Bouchamaoui who doubles up as CAF Exco member failed to attend together with SAFA President Dr.Danny Jordaan,NFF President Amaju Pinnick,Hany Abou Rida(CAF & FIFA), among others signified the deep division in the Exco with those that are clearly against the modus operandi that has led to the negative report by PwC  and  those that are in President Ahmad Ahmad inner circle.

An audit of CAF  uncovered millions of dollars of financial irregularities, a development that threatens to bring down its leadership after more than a year of turmoil at the troubled organization.

 CAF Executive Commitee  agreed last year to an independent review of its operations amid accusations of financial wrongdoing made by a group of former senior executives at the Cairo-based organization.

CAF President  Ahmad Ahmad, is also the subject of an ethics inquiry by so FIFA and by the authorities in France.
