Senegalese striker Demba Ba is still optimistic of receiving a call-up to the National team.
The striker has not been invited to the Lions of Teranga team since 2015.
Ba was last invited for an international friendly against Ghana in France under coach Aliou Cisse having been overlooked by former coach Alain Giresse.
The former Newcastle and Chelsea forward who now turns for Goztepe has not given up on a possible return to the Lions of Teranga team saying that his experience is vital to the team in 2018 World Cup in Russia.
“Experienced players are needed in international competitions. In Europe I have played in all competitions,”Ba told Soka25east as translated from French.
“Beyond the experience, there is the personality too. You need to have character when you go to competitions like this one.”
The 32-year-old striker has been on rich vein of goal scoring form with his latest being on Sunday against Alanyaspor in Turkish Super Lig encounter.
He increased his tally to five in seven league appearances since he arrived the Doganlar Stadium outfit from Shanghai Shenhua in January.
