DIVISION ONE FOOTBALL TO KICK OFF IN ZAMBIA

IMG-20160331-WA0081DIVISION ONE ZONE FOOTBALL ONE IS HERE

Division Football is one interesting league that really have teams that work hard for promotion to the Super League. For the first time we have four zones that are expected to produce four teams that will play in the Super League next season. Two teams will be relegated from the each zone.

Bwezani with Zambian Football will once again bring you updated results and standings from what will be happening in the four zones.

A GLIMPSE ON THE FOUR ZONES

ZONE ONE

Straight from the Super League National Assembly will be a hot favourite to return back to the Super League but serious competition will be passed by City of Lusaka, Nampundwe who almost made it to the Super League last season, Paramilitary and perhaps Riflemen.

There could also be a surprise package of teams like Paramilitary Kafue Celtic and as well as Petauke United.

I seriously think the winner will still come from Lusaka, this is not so good for eastern province we seem like we shall continue for years to come without a Super League team from the east,

ZONE TWO

Zone Two is interesting for me, this involves Copperbelt Province and North Western Province. And we have another team that was ejected from the Super League in Konkola Blades who will be hoping to get back to the Super League right away but they will face competition from Roan United, Kalulushi Modern Stars, and FQMO.

North Western last season managed to send a team to the Super League and hence Kansanshi Dynamos, FQMO, Mining Rangers will be hoping to learn from Lumwana Radiants and make it to the best teams in the country.

Roan United has been on the high in the preparations and we will have to wait and see if the trainings will be enough to have Roan United back to the Super League.

There are also a bit unknown sides that are in this group such as ZNS Lwamfumu and Chingola Police Stars promoted from division two. I will be interested in seeing what Chingola Police Stars will do after losing a player last season during a game. That was a one of the sad experience of 2016 and should Chingola Police Stars make it am sure it will be in honour of their friend who passed away fighting for this promotion.

ZONE THREE

Zone three which is more Northen Muchinga and Central Province and the majority of teams in this are not too well known on the Zambian scene and hence any team in this group could actually have a chance and my pick is Real Nakonde that did well in the first part of the season but lost some valuable points for none travelling and hard games in the second half of the season.

Look out for Prison Leopards based in Kabwe too that gave big games against Kabwe Warriors and most of the teams in Division One South of last season. Interesting games awaited and this group will still have seriously challenges of long travels.

ZONE FOUR

If there was a time that Livinsgtone Pirates could have a realistic chance of making it to the Super League is this time especially a season where Green Eagles and Nakambala Leopards are not in the lot. But Livingstone Pirates should be weary of Kalomo Jetters, Luena Buffaloes, Mumbwa Medics and their town mates Zesco Vic Falls.

Super League is up for grabs and the kickoff is on the 9th April and for me my thoughts are as follows of which teams I think will make it to the Super League for the 2017 season.

ZONE One: National Assembly will fight it with Nampundwe

Zone Two: Roan United will fight it with Konkola Blades

Zone Three: Real Nakonde and Prison Leopards

Zone Four Livingstone Pirates
