Djiboutian soccer coaches train at first ever FIFA fitness course

ELITE DJIBOUTIAN football coaches are being trained at a FIFA MA fitness coaching course, which is the first of its kind ever held for the small
football-growing country in the horn of Africa.

The high level course which is running from 5 to 9 September is being conducted by FIFA fitness instructor, Zakaria Labsy [France].

The course has brought together some 30 elite football coaches of whom 26 are representing the country’s Division A and Division B clubs.

The rest four are female coaches from Djibouti’s women football development committee. The promotion of women’s football in Djibouti was
part of President Souleiman’s strategy to develop woman football in the country, a dream that has so far yielded positive outcomes.

Government officials, Djibouti Football Federation president, Souleiman Hassan Waberi and club managers have attended the launching ceremony for the FIFA MA fitness course for Djiboutian coaches.

FIFA fitness coaching instructor, Zakaria Labsy, who delivered a short address at the launch of the course, thanked Djiboutian FA for the good
hospitality they extended to him and for the organization of the course which he said has attracted much appreciation from him.

The FIFA instructor, who watched the Djibouti VS Togo AFCON qualifier clash over the weekend, said that Djibouti’s football was growing better
according to the performance of their team during the match.

Abchir Ali Hassan, representative from Djibouti ministry of sport, who addressed at the opening ceremony, commended the Djiboutian FA officials
for their commitment to develop football in the country.

“For the past three years, we have witnessed a real progress of football in the country and on behalf of the government I praise president Souleiman and his executive committee for that beautiful job” Abchir Ali Hassan told the opening ceremony over the weekend.

Djibouti Football federation president, Mr. Souleiman Hassan Waberi, who
finally addressed at the ceremony, said that organizing such a course was part of the list of development programs he announced after his election just nearly three years ago.

He thanked the world football’s governing body [FIFA] for its generous assistance to the country to help the progress of football in Djibouti.

“I take this opportunity to thank the president of the nation HE Ismail Omar Guelleh, a football-loving leader who has been playing a big role in
our football development and we appreciate his commitment to football”

Djibouti Football Federation president, Mr. Souleiman Hassan Waberi said before announcing the launch of the 5-day FIFA MA fitness course for Djiboutian coaches.
