Botswana coach Peter ‘James’ Butler has blamed carelessness back in the defence for a 2-0 loss against DR Congo in an international friendly played in Casablanca,Morocco.
On Monday, the Zebras lost their first game in their one week camp after they gifted DR Congo two second half goals and a spirited fight in the last quarter was fruitless for the South African nation.
“Today our defence made senseless mistakes, this should not happen.
“But I am proud of the game plan and how the boys pressed. I am not worried because our team will be stronger on Saturday.
“This was an excellent camping trip, now we can go home to go all out for the 3points,”the coach said.
Butler praised the Morocco Football Federation for hosting his charges for the important match.
“Morocco Federation have been brilliant they have shown us how to do things in a professional manner they were a class act,”he added.
Zebras will face Mauritania on Saturday 10th June in Francistown in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations Group I qualifiers.
