Egypt Football Association has agreed to extend technical support to the national teams of Gambia.

EFA has also accepted to host Gambia national teams during training camps in Egypt.

The agreement was sealed last Friday when EFA President Hany Abo Rida hosted his Gambia Football Federation counterpart Lamin Kabba Bajo in Cairo.

“Mr. Abo Rida has agreed to assist GFF with a Technical Assistant to assess and help develop our technical department with a view to enhancing our National Teams, both male and female and also youth football,”

“Both Mr. Bajo and his Egyptian colleague Abo Rida have agreed in principle to effect this agreement as soon as possible,” GFF statement reads.

Egypt boasts good football infrastructure and is among the top countries in the continent in terms of football development.

The country has already qualified for the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

Abo Rida was this year appointed the third president of the Confederation of African Football and is believed to wield considerable influence in the organization.

Bajo continues his “ambassadorial services” according to GFF and will proceed to Morocco for further bilateral talks Monday.

Morocco has in the recent past penned federation to federation agreements with numerous federations in Africa including those of Rwanda, Nigeria and the DR Congo.
