Arsenal’s Egyptian midfielderMohamed Elneny is reportedly nearing a loan move to Besiktas.
The 27-year-old has been informed by Gunners boss Unai Emery that he is free to leave the Emirates Stadium ahead of the closing of the European transfer window next week.
Galatasaray had been strongly linked with a move for the Egypt international, who only made eight appearances for his English club during the 2018-19 campaign.
However, according to the Daily Mail, Elneny is closing in on a loan move to Besiktas, who are expected to pay the midfielder’s £55,000-a-week wages this season.
The Egyptian – contracted to Emery’s side until the end of the 2021-22 campaign – has made 89 appearances for the Gunners since a 2016 move from Basel.
