Al Ahly goalkeeper Mohamed El Shenawy has his eyes set on winning the CAF Champions League title. The newly crown Egyptian Champions will face bitter rivals Zamalek in an all Egyptian final in Cairo on November 27.
El Shenawy says the entire team is keen to win the African title after bagging the league crown.
He stated that the team deserved to win the league title after great performances and much effort from all the players.
“It was very important for us to finish our season in style, and we are very happy after celebrating the title with Moamen Zakaria,” Said El Shenawy as quoted by the club’s official website.
“We succeeded to win the league despite the long postponement due to COVID-19.”
“We are currently focusing on the CAF Champions League final, and we are all keen to win the African title this season.”
Meanwhile, Al Ahly’s coaching staff decided to give players an additional rest for four more days following the team’s 3-0 victory over Talaea El Geish.
The first team will come back to training on Saturday in order to start the preparations for the CAF Champions League’s final which will be played on November 27th.
