Baron Oketch Jobita’s switch from Western Stima to Gor Mahia in the Sportpesa Premier League is done.

Confirming the development, Gor Mahia acting Secretary General Ronald Ngala said Oketch penned a three year deal with K’Ogalo and they have received his release letter from Stima for official registration with the Football Kenya Federation (FKF).

“He is our player now. The only remaining bit is registering him with FKF – which shouldn’t be a problem since we already have his release letter.” Ngala said. He however declined to quote the money exchanged and the much the attacking midfielder will take home per month.

Speaking to Soka25east.com this evening, the former Kakamega High School’s “Green Commandos” graduate expressed his elation at the latest development.

He joins the 15 times league champions well aware of the quality squad they have, and he has promised to work extra hard to break into the team.

“I’m very happy about the move. All I want to do now is work hard than before to be in the first team,”

“I know it won’t be easy but through hard work and having trust in God I will do it.”

The twenty three years old becomes the first acquisition for K’Ogalo who are eying a fourth title on the bounce, in the just opened June mini transfer window. More top players have been linked with a crossover to the Coach Ze Maria’s side, including a Brazilian striker.

Others are Mathare United’s Eric Johanna and Tusker’s holding midfielder Humphrey Mieno.

Oketch trained at Camp Toyoyo today with Gor Mahia who cut short their mid season break to start preparing for Top 8 Knockout Tournament slated for June 16.
