ZAMBIA’S High Commissioner to South Africa Emmanuel Mwamba says he will take it upon himself to convince corporate sponsors to help newly promoted MTN/FAZ Super League side Lusaka Tigers acquire a bus.
Ambassador Mwamba who was part of the fans who watched Tigers beat Nchanga Rangers by a goal to nil in a week one fixture at Independence stadium, said Tigers needed sponsorship befitting a super league team.
Mwamba said he had been briefed by management that that the club did not have bus.
He said the issue of a bus needed to be treated as a matter of urgency because it would be very expensive to ferry players using hired vehicles.
“Now that you are in Premier League, you have to play premier football but you need premier support and you have a critical issue that of a bus. It will be very expensive for management to ferry you by hiring a vehicle, ” Mwamba said.
Mwamba said as a person who grew up in Matero and knew the club very well, it would be his duty to convince companies such as Bata, Pepsi and others to help Tigers with corporate sponsorship.
Meanwhile, Mwamba has called for discipline among players if they had to go far in their career.Mwamba noted that the only difference between a good player and any other player was discipline.
