As Nkana take on Warriors on Sunday
Two goals in each half from Ernest Mbewe saw Zanaco overcome rivals Power Dynamos 2-1 in a week 29 league fixture played in Kitwe on Saturday .
The result mean Zanaco break into the top four and dents the hopes of the Kitwe outfit from achieving that feet. While Zanaco have to wait for the Nkana Vs Kabwe Warriors encounter to determine if they will remain in the top four after week 29 round of games, this win will be looked at as a big step towards achieving the top four finish.
Numba Mumamba’s side survived an early scare and mix-up in defence but with that goal on 34th minute from Ernest Mbewe, the Bankers set themselves a lifeline of getting perhaps a one of their most important win in the 2018 season.
The Bankers then began to take control of proceedings and added up a second, to round up a brace for Ernest Mbewe in the 65th minute to give Numba some breathing space in the encounter that we may have seen more goals with match officials perhaps very strict with their rules.
Clamour
There is bound to be a further clamour for Numba to stay on as Zanaco manager beyond this season following this performance, Although it had not looked too good for the coach earlier on. This win and an assurance for a top four finish will settle the nerves that have been bottling up at the 2016 champions residence.
On Sunday Nkana host Kabwe Warriors and a win for Nkana will send Zanaco out of the top four.
