Harambee Starlets striker Essie Akida has signed a two year deal with with Turkish club Besiktas from Israeli side Ramat HaSharon FC.
Akida joined today on Monday and becomes the first Kenyan Woman Footballer to join a Champions League side.
She moved to Israel side in October 2018 and had played for Thika Queens in Kenya before trekking to the Israeli League.
Adika took to twitter to express how excited she was to join the Turkish outfit, “Officially a hawk. Glad to officially announce that I have joined the Besiktas family. Big club with big ambitions. I want to thank my family at Ramat Hasharon for the opportunity they gave me in what was my first professional stint and wish them the best in the new season,” she wrote.
