By Staff Reporter,
Nigerian’s are known all over the World for their goal scoring prowess and for producing exciting talents that have graced virtually every league in the World.
In Ethiopia it has not been different but rather it was an exciting end to the Ethiopian premier league as two Nigerians Samuel Sanumi of Dedebit and Phillip Dauzi got rave reviews scoring a total of 40 goals between them in the league an amazing fete from two gentlemen who struggled to break through when they first came to Ethiopia.
“I thank God for this great fete that was made possible not only by myself but with my team mates who played a crucial role in enabling me to score the important goals. Its been hardwork, resilience and determination to score 22 goals”an excited Samuel Sanumi told Soka25east.com
Sanumi who was the golden boot winner with 22 points was just two goals shy of breaking the Ethiopian record held by Yordanos Abay whose record stands at 24 goals for the entire season.
On his part soft spoken Phillip Dauzi finished as the runner up with 19 goals to his name after an exciting season at Nigd Bank where he scored some crucial goals.
“I want to thank God for the talent and for enabling me to score important goals for my team.It has not been easy as its been a working progress ever since we arrived in Ethiopia. At the first year i struggled to cope and even contemplated leaving but with determination came the urge to continue working hard and now we can enjoy the fruits of the hard labour”Dauzi told Soka25east.com
