Four Ethiopian Premier League week 11 games were played this afternoon outside of Addis Ababa. Hawassa Kenema and Electric have managed to register an important win over ArbaMinch Ketema and Hadiya Hossana respectively. The much anticipated game between Sidama Bunna and Dedebit ended in stalemate whilst Ethiopia Bunna held Diredawa Ketema.
In Yirgalem, Dedbit roar back to earn a point against Sidama Bunna. The home side took a two goals cushion before the interval through Fitsum Teferi’s brace. The former Ethiopia Nigd Bank midfielder now has 3 goals in 2 games. Samson Tilahun and Birhanu Bogale rescued the Blue Armies in the second half to salvage a point away.
Hawassa Ketema were running rampant as they struck triple times in just 24 minutes to defeat ArbaMinch Ketema 3-1. Israel Eshetu opened the scoring 12 minutes after the kick off. Asechalew Girma doubled the lead five minutes later netting a cross from Desta Yohannis. Desta slotted home as he sends a strong left footed shot outside the box in the 24th mniute. ArbaMinch pulled one back in the second half through substitute Tagele Abebe.
Electric were triumphed over strugglers Hadiya Hossana. Nigerian Peter Nuwadke’s lone goal was enough to hand the Addis Ababa outfit an important victory.
Elsewhere in Diredawa, Ethiopia Bunna and Diredawa Ketema played out a one all draw. Cameroonian Yabeun William gave Bunna the lead in 34th minute with a clinical finish to score his sixth goal of the campaign. Diredawa forward Fikadu Worku restored parity 11 minutes from time.
Kidus Giorgis and Adama Ketema top the log table with 23 points. The draw left both Dedebit and Sidama Bunna third and fourth with 19 and 18 points. Diredawa Ketema and Electric occupy fifth and sixth with 17 and 14 points. Hawassa Ketema are able to get out of the relegation zone for now as they stand 11th. Ethiopia Bunna are 10th in 12 points, the same tally with Hawassa Ketema but superior in goal difference. ArbaMinch Ketema dropped to the relegaltion zone. Meanwhile, Hadiya Hossana are still dangling at the bottom of the table.
On Saturday Wolaitta Dicha entertains second placed Adama Ketema in Boditi. The week 11 games between Dashen Bira – Kidus Giorgis and Ethiopia Nigd Bank – Mekelakeya have been postponed to March 6 due to Kidus Giorgis and Mekelakeya are in CAF Champions League and Confederations Cup duties this weekend as they travel to Seychelles and Egypt respectively.
