Long Serving St.George and former Ethiopia Walia Ibex skipper Degu Debebe has signed an improved 2 year contract extending his stay at Sanjaw where he was signed in 2005.
The no nonsense defender who recently called it a day as skipper of the National team recommitted himself in turn being the longest serving player in the team where he has been for over a decade.
The soft spoken Degu heaped praise on the club management,his fellow players and fans alluding to the fact that he was happy to stay at Ethiopia most supported club.
“I am indeed glad to renew my contract at St.George a club that has been home to me for a long time.There are things that come automatically and one of them was showing my commitment to the club ”

Degu Debebe has won 8 Ethiopian premier league titles since joining from Arbaminch and he has continued to be focused and determined to raise the stakes at the club wearing the captain’s arm band.
