Ethiopia Walia Ibex lost their first friendly match in their Brazil tour 1-0 to hosts Club Do Remo in an exciting match played at the Arena Baenao on Sunday evening .
The match begun like a house on fire with both sides firing from all cylinders trying to get the break in a game that saw both exciting tiki taka football with Ethiopian coach Mariano Barreto fielding a strong side .
Club Do Remo got the all important goal in the first half and held on to the end despite numerous chances by Ethiopia that went begging as they came back rejuvenated in the second half but were unlucky to get an equalizer .
The loss was the second for coach Mariano Barreto after another slim 1-0 loss to Angola last week in Luanda.
Ethiopia are using the Brazil tour to prepare for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations 2015 qualifers that begin in September.Walia are lined against tough opponents in Mali,Malawi and Algeria who recently impressed at the World Cup reaching the last 16 teams.
Ethiopia will play four more friendly matches with local sides that include AC Anapolina to be played at the 15,000 seater Jonas Duarte stadium ,Gama at the 20,000 seater Bezerrao Stadium,against Brasiliense at the Boca do Jacare stadium and the last friendly will be against Itubiara at the 30,000 seater JK stadium.
