The first round of matches in the interesting Ethiopian premier League have come to an end with Sidama Bunna firmly patched at the top with 27 points from 13 matches played won 8 lost 2 and drew 3 .The horse men have been in superb form showing their early intentions
Giants St.George popularly known as Sanjaw are safely tucked in the second place with 25 points having drawn their last game 0-0 against Wolayta Dicha .St.George have managed to win 7 games lost 4 and drew 2 as they fight to topple the table leaders Sidama who have been consistent.
Surprise team Wolayta Dicha have defied all odds and are toe to toe with the leaders with 22 points having won six drawn 4 and lost 3.
The relegation battle is also hotting up at the bottom of the table Woldya Kenema have had a torrid time in the first leg only managing 1 win 2 draws and 10 losses in what would need a miracle to bounce back in the second leg.Awassa Kenema are second from bottom also facing the same challenges having won only 2 matches drawn 4 and lost 7 as they have amassed 10 points from 13 matches played.
Murger Cemento are 12th on the log table as they lag behind having won 3 matches drawn 4 and lost 6.
The league takes a break as teams seek to sign players ahead of the second leg to strenghthen their squads.
