Thousands of rival fans have come together in a show of solidarity to pay their respects to the 120 people killed in Qorshe dump slide on Saturday 13 March in Addis Ababa.

Fans from three main clubs,Fasil Kenema,St George and Ethiopia Coffee  travelled from various parts of the country today with some travelling over 800 kilometres to join the families and friends of the victims.

Football fans, many of them waving the club flags, showed unity,love and affection when they presented gifts, cash and any other form of supports to the victims.

The giant landslide at Ethiopia’s largest rubbish dump occured last weekend with entire families including children buried alive in the tragedy.

It is not the first time for such kinds of activities by Ethiopia clubs as fans association participates during the country’s happiest and sad moments.

Plans are underway in a period of two weeks later for the four major Ethiopian Premier League clubs namely Fasil Kenema,Ethiopia Coffee,Adama Kenema and Arbaminch Kenema to play in a two day tournament aimed in collecting money for the Great Ethiopian Renaissance Dam.

The disaster on Saturday at the dump flattened dozens of the homes of people living in the Qorshe dump when part of the largest pile of rubbish collapsed.

Fans making way to the occasion broke from their usual team slogans to show united front.

Flowers, including yellow and green carnations, the colours of the national flag, were left at the scene of tragedy along with scarves from numerous Ethiopian football teams.
