Tunisia’s Etoile du Sahel topped Group C, after defeating Senegal’s ASC Les Jaraaf 2-0 in Tunis in the opening group stage match of the CAF Confederation Cup on Wednesday.
Sousse based side dominated the entire encounter, but waited till after the break to score after missing numerous chances in the opening half.
Shortly after the hour mark, substitute Hamza Lahmar put Etoile ahead with a perfect free kick.
At the final minute, the hosts doubled their lead from the spot, with Lahmar completing his brace.
Etoile shared the top of Group C with compatriots CS Sfaxien who defeated Burkina Faso’s Salitas earlier on the day.
