Taifa Stars skipper Mbwana Samatta converted the third penalty as KRC Genk edged FK Buducnost 4-2 on post match penalty to inch closer to UEFA Europa League group phase.

The reverse fixture ended 2-0 in favor of the host at Podgorica City Stadium, Montenegro after extra time hence tying it at 2-2 aggregate.

Buducnost were able to reverse 2-0 first leg loss in Belgium through Radomir Djalovic’s first minute goal before Milos Raickovic completed the turnaround in the 40’with the second.

Genk held on and refused to bulge further in the second half despite Ghanaian Bernard Kumrdzi being sent off in the 74′.

Captain Thomas Buffel converted the winning penalty with Heynen and Walsh also successful.

Genk will play Cork City of Ireland in the next round.
