Zesco United on Wednesday beat Kabwe Warriors in a week 28 rescheduled encounter to keep their title hopes alive.
Clinical Idris Mbombo scored a brace on the day.
Zesco United started the match on a high and it quickly paid off as Idriss Ilunga Mbombo opened the scoring 3 minutes into the match. Zesco was on fire and Warriors had to be saved by the cross bar on more than two occasions. Kabwe Warriors also had their moments but could not score the equalizer in the first 45 minutes as the first half ended 1-0.
Zesco United started the second half from where they left off and the man of the afternoon idris Mbombo sealed the match in the 66th minute with his second goal of the match. Kabwe Warriors fell short of a reply and 2-1 it ended.
Zesco United have now accumulated 60 points and have Four games till the end of the season. Team Ya Ziko can still win the League but Zanaco have to lose all their remaining three games.
