Ivan Minnaert, formerly in charge of Rwanda’s Rayon Sport, Mali’s Djouliba FC and AFC Leopards of Kenya has expressed interest in Coaching defending Champions of the MTN/FAZ Super League Zesco United. Zesco are currently without a Head Coach after George Lwandamina handed in his resignation later earlier this month.
Minnaert revealed his interest in the Zesco United job in an exclusive interview with Soka25east.com.
“I follow the team and I feel I can make a good coach for “Team Ya Ziko”. I know Zesco will have to build something new with the coach leaving and maybe different players going to follow the coach and most important one of the key players [Clatus Chama] going to Egypt”.said Minnaert
The former Ingwe tactician was not short of praise for management of Zesco United and how they have built a successful team. He attributed the success to continuity and sponsorship that the team receives from Zesco limited and their co-operating partners.
“The continuity, also a good working youth policy with time has given them good results. Also the stability with corporate sponsors and good foreign players who have brought a lot of quality to the team”.
Minnaet is confident that his impeccable work ethic would benefit Zesco United if hired to take over from George Lwandamina.
“The way I’m working , my discipline, bringing attractive and ofensive football will be a good thing for Zesco United and Zambian Football at large”. Said the Belgian
“My quality to put the players on a higher level. Working to develop young hungry players is also another quality of mine I feel would be beneficial to Zesco United which is one of the best Clubs in Africa” he further added
