Uganda Premier League have ordered Express FC to play in empty stadia as punishment for violence caused by their fans during Saturday’s 1st October match against Kirinya-Jinja S.S
The league organising body has also fined Express Sh300, 000 for failing to provide enough security after the match where one of the assistant referees was attacked by Express fans at Wankulukuku Stadium losing his phones in the shuffle.
Express FC has also been ordered to ensure security in and around the stadium making sure that no spectators will be allowed in the stadium during their next premiership match aganist Bright Stars FC
The resolutions were made by the premier league secretariat and commuicated to the club after a meeting by the body administators.
Despite several sactions aganist the club regarding football hooliganism the league body noted there has be no improvement thus invoking article 33.2b of FUFA competitions rules.
The order to play behind will hit Express hard.With no shirt sponsors,the famous red eagles have been operating on a tight budget and gate collections have come in hardy in running the day to day activities of the club.
