Faruku Miya has returned to parent club Standard Liege following the end of his loan spell at Royal Excel Mouscron.

According to a report from Ugandan news outlet Kawowo Sport,Miya has shown back at Liege training complex with the rest of players ahead of new season.

The attacking midfielder joined Standard Liège on loan from Vipers SC of Uganda in January 2016 before making his move permanent last summer.

He struggled for playing time and was loaned to Royal Excel Mouscron,a club that sat the bottom of the table at that time.

At home Miya is described as “Muyizi Tasubwa”, a Luganda saying meaning “a hunter who cannot miss” due to his composure in-front of goalmouth.Indeed he scored Uganda’s only goal at the Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon.
