Fasil Kenema have completed two foreign signings as they seek an improved performance in the second leg of Ethiopia Premier League.
The two are Ugandan forward Hamis Kiiza, who joins from Sudanese giants Al Hilal El Obeid and Kenyan midfielder Sunday Mutuku who both penned a one-year contract.
Kiiza, a diminutive energetic forward joins his fellow countryman Yasser Mugerwa at the Gonder City based outfit with his arrival expected to increase the number of choice in the front for Fasil’s head coach Mentesnote Getu in addition to Ramkel Lok and Nigerian forward Philip Dauzi.
The capture of the Kiiza follows the exit departure of Ugandan forward Robert Ssentongo, who after 6 months of marriage parted ways with the club due to disciplinary issues.
Similarly, Kenyan midfielder Sunday Mutuku has joined the club from the other Ethiopian PL side Dire-Dawa City FC on one year deal.
Mutuku, formerly with Kenyan side- Kakamega Homeboyz caught the eyes of his new club scouts following his superb performance with Sidama Coffee and Dire-Dawa City where he played for in the past two seasons.
The Emperors, who are celebrating their 50th year of anniversary are 6th on the16-team log with 22 points from 15 matches and seven points’ adrift leaders Dedebit.
The second round of EPL kicks off on 24th March with Fasil Kenema welcoming Welwalo ADU on Saturday at Addis-Ababa Stadium in the match day 16.
The match has moved to the capital Addis-Ababa from Gonder City following a decision by the FA to avoid fans riot between the two club fans as the clubs came from states where there is a political tension in-between.
