The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) has confirmed the appointment of Belgian coach Sven Vanderbroek as the new Chipolopolo boss. FAZ confirmed the appointment through a press statement.
“The Football Association of Zambia is pleased to announce the appointment of Sven Vandenbroek as new Coach of the Zambia National Football Team. Vandenbroek will be unveiled to the media on Tuesday 10th July 2018 after his formal presentation to the Minster of Sports on Monday.
Following his presentation to the media, Vandenbroek will immediately get down to work and meet all 20 Super Division coaches from whom he should get insight on the state of the league and commence his players’ selection.
FAZ President Andrew Kamanga who also spoke to www.soka25east.com confirmed the latest development saying “we are glad to have settled on Sven who has experience and shares in our vision for Zambian football.We will give him all the support he needs to ensure he performs his duties satisfactorily” Kamanga said.
Sven’s immediate mandate is to qualify the Chipolopolo to the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, he added.
Vandendroek, who was the assistant coach to Hugo Broos while both were at the Cameroon national team, has signed a nine-month deal to replace Wedson Nyirenda who resigned recently. Enditem
