Forest Rangers finally bring to an end the unbeaten run of ZANACO away in Ndola and week 14 ends with only 8 goals scored the lowest in the league so far
WINNERS
KABWE WARRIORS GREEN EAGLES AND NAKAMBALA LEOPARDS ZANACO
KABWE WARRIORS
That is what is called a sweet victory. Usually when you score at the death of the game it means you are sure and nothing else can happen, you win the encounter. That was the case with Kabwe Warriors away at winless Mufulira Blackpool with the first away win for Kabwe Warriors and it comes as a serious motivation to Kabwe Warriors fraternity. Claud Bwalya with the goal and Kabwe Warriors moves to seventh position.
GREEN EAGLES
The last win for Green Eagles was at home to Mufulira Blackpool and it was another 1-0 victory, I call Eagles as 1-0 specialists because that is their trade mark for the past seasons now. This time it was the resilience Lusaka Tigers who succumbed to the Eagle through a lone goal from Mwila Mwelwa and the game would end that way. Eagles would celebrate that win as it was enough to move the team out of the relegation zone where no team wants to spend their time. Eagles are 13th on 15 points.
NAKAMBALA LEOPARDS ‘
Everything looked going bad for Nakambala with a home loss to Nkana and an away loss to Mufulira Wanderers and welcoming Power Dynamos in Mazabuka looked like another big fixture that would be in so much pain. Ignatius Lwipa had other ideas as his first half goal was the difference. Taking Nakambala to ninth position with reliving fears of relegation zone coming to Mazabuka so soon. Good weekend for the Sugar boys.
FOREST RANGERS
End ZANACO’s unbeaten run and from today there is no team unbeaten in the league as Forest Rangers leave it late to score in the dying minutes and send the Bankers back to Lusaka without anything.
It will be a sweet victory for Forest Rangers who will now end week 14 on 8th position. A serious sweet victory for Patrick Phiri at the boys.
DRAWS
LUMWANA RADIANTS 2-2 MUFULIRA WANDERERS
I knew it would be tough but wasn’t sure that it could produce four goals. Two penalties one from each side and one goal from another describes the 95 minutes played in Lumwana where there was late drama and Mufulira Wanderers equalizing at the death of the game. There has been a lot of praise for Rahim who equalized for Mufulira Wanderers as having scored the goal of the week and it’s a pity the game was not on TV. Fair result for the teams but Lumwana will be gnashing for not holding to the win.
RED ARROWS VS LUSAKA DYNAMOS
Another below par performance by Red Arrows at home and they collect a point at home. More of such results for Arrows would take the team right into relegation zone. Lusaka Dynamos will be happy with the draw but it was not enough to get them off the relegation zone.
NKWAZI 0-0 NCHANGA RANGERS
The absence of Elijah Chikwanda who is with the national team has seen Nkwazi fail to pick maximum points now in the couple of games and it was another similar situation in this week against Nchanga Rangers in Lusaka. But the point will be fair for the efforts by Nchanga and for Nkwazi a point will feel like a loss.
NAPSA 0-0 NKANA
Nkana draw two in a roll and that is still enough to keep Nkana on top luck that on the same day ZANACO lost otherwise Nkana would have lost the top spot for the first time this season. For NAPSA the team has to spend some time in the relegation zone.

LOSSES
MUFULIRA BLACKPOOL
Nothing much to say about Blackpool, they may have played better but the winless streak continues. Played 14, won zero, drew 6 and lost 8 is not good enough to have hopes of staying up in the super league. Blackpool is going down after handing Kabwe Warriors a first win.
POWER DYANMOS
Very difficult for Power Dynamos to record an away win so far this season and another loss away in Mazabuka means Power Dynamos end week 14 on fifth position and won’t have any movement.
LUSAKA TIGERS
This time they couldn’t engineer a draw as experts in draws as they lost to Green Eagles in Choma. Relegation fears for the TIGER are now eminent and they need to find a way of grinding a win so soon to avoid those fears.
ZANACO
Finally the unbeaten run for ZANACO comes to an end away at Forest Rangers with a 1-0 loss and this one will hurt. It’s also the first time ZANACO fail to score on the road.

MY STATISTICS FOR WEEK NINE
Number of Goals scored: 8
BEST TEAM OF WEEK SIX FOR ME
FOREST RANGERS
The pride is ending the unbeaten run of ZANACO and scoring at the close of the game will make Forest Rangers celebrate as though they have won the league. No doubt they deserve it.
MOST IMPROVED
MUFULIRA WANDERERS
Continue improving and concentrating until the last minute to score and grab a point away in Lumwana was serious character
MOST DISAPPOINTING TEAM
LUMWANA RADIANTS
You don’t concede with the last kick of the game. You don’t go out attacking at the end of the game when you are leading 2-1 and it’s a win that you seriously need to get you off the relegation zone. The team was poor and didn’t read the end of the game.
