FRIDAY JULY 22ND

Kabwe Warriors Vs Lusaka Dynamos
Godffery Chitalu Stadium
15:00hrs
Live of Supersport
This is an interesting encounter and I have no doubt Godfrey Ucar Chitalu Stadium will be packed for this encounter. Lusaka Dynamos are out of the relegation zone and they would love that situation to continue but this is not an easy encounter for the Elite Boys as Kabwe Warriors is deadly at home.

Kabwe Warriors lost with a lone goal against ZANACO in week 18 and how they would wish to bounce back as fast as possible in this encounter. Kabwe
Warriors will not improve its position even with a win in this as the point difference with GBFC is four points and hence the maximum points for Kabwe Warriors should they win this is 29. They would nevertheless lose the sixth position should they drop points and Nchanga Rangers or Forest Rangers win their games. The head to head record is quiet tight and actually Lusaka Dynamos has won more games than Kabwe Warriors. In the last 11, Lusaka Dynamos has three wins while Kabwe Warriors has two. Six are draws.

But I think this will be the eighth win for Warriors they are very good at home.

MY VERDICT: Kabwe Warriors 2-0 Lusaka Dynamos

SATURDAY 23rd July

Nkwazi Vs Mufulira Wanderers
Nkoloma Stadium
15:00hrs
Live on Supersport

Mufulira Wanderers is enjoying TV rights and the fans should be enjoying watching their games on TV. Mufulira Wanderers after straight four draws managed to grab a win last weekend against Forest Rangers at Shinde Stadium.
Nkwazi has three losses, one win and one draw in their last five encounters and will look at this fixture to be one stepping stone, they could go above Kabwe Warriors should Lusaka Dynamos beat Warriors in Kabwe that is if they beat Mighty Mufulira Wanderers.

The win for Mufulira Wanderers against Shinde was tactical and the play wasn’t that impressive but who cares when every team is fighting for points?

Mufulira Wanderers is developing a very good run against Nkwazi, In the league in the last three, Mighty have won two and drawn one, they won 1-0 away last season but in the Barclays Cup Nkwazi ejected Mufulira Wanderers at the stadium where this encounter will be played via penalty shoot outs. I dont know which team will be motivated by that result.

This season on 26th March 2016, Mufulira Wanderers beat Nkwazi 2-1 at Shinde Mike Katiba and Austin Banda scoring for Mighty while Erick Chomba got the consolation for the Policemen.

This one will be tight, Mighty with the influence of the Portuguese Silva Paulo and Nkwazi under Chikwanda are a difficult team to beat. Am thinking this will be the second draw for these teams in the league in two years.

MY VERDICT: Nkwazi 2-2 Mufulira Wanderers

Power Dynamos Vs Nchanga Rangers
Athur Davies Stadium
15:00hrs
Nchanga Rangers beat Power Dynamos 2-1 in the game played in Chingola this season. That game was on 26th March 2016 and that was the fifth time Nchanga Rangers was beating Power Dynamos in 19 encounters Power Dynamos has won 9 and 5 are draws. In those 19 games there are 50 goals scored, 23 for Power Dynamos and 17 for Nchanga Rangers. Three of the goals for Nchanga were through boardroom decision when Nchanga was awarded 3-0 after Paul Dynamos fielded in ineligible player

Am more interested to see what will happen in the 20th meeting because the result has a lot of bearing on the long standing. Should Power Dynamos win and Green Eagles beat Nkana in Choma, Power Dynamos could end the week on second position and that will send the other half on Kitwe a=in a serious frenzy. Even when it is for a while it will be joyous for Power Dynamos being on top of Nkana for the Power Followers. That’s the motivation that lies with Power Dynamos and they will push for a win.

I thought Nchanga Rangers played very well against Lusaka Tigers and Kabeya Mulume was my man of the match in that encounter. He will be a threat again if he replicates the form for last weekend. But Power look good with Fwayo Tembo upfront but can falter throughout the 90 minutes.
MY VERDICT: Power Dynamos 2-1 Nchanga Rangers

Forest Rangers Vs Nakambala Leopards
Levy Mwanawasa Stadium
15:00hrs

Forest Rangers straight from the defeat in Mufulira host another casualty of the weekend in Nakambala Leopards who lost to Red Arrows. Nakambala has two wins two losses in the last five while Forest Rangers received back to back defeats but before that won straight three wins. Forest Rangers have only lost two games at home and that was against Lumwana Radiants 1-2 and Nkwazi 1-0. Forest Rangers have only had one draw against Mufulira Wanderers and the other four were victories.
They face Nakambala Leopards a team they have enjoyed playing against in the last 13 game. Rangers has won 7 games, lost 3 and drew 3 against Nakambala Leopards in the last 13 games. The game in Nakambala this season played on 26th March ended 0-0.

There is something interesting about this encounter, and that has a lot to do with Patrick Phiri who recently moved from Nakambala Leopards to take over at Forest Rangers and that will be a serious motivation for Nakambala Leopards players and coaches to give Patrick Phiri a statement that they are still better even after he ditched them.

But Forest this season is strong at home and I don’t think Nakambala can threaten them so much in this encounter. Nakambala though has one win away when they beat Lusaka Tigers at Independence Stadium and they also got two draws away against Nkwazi and Blackpool this season. Can they get another draw? I think it’s possible. Forest Rangers look like they are not very comfortable at Levy Mwanawasa.

MY VERDICT: Forest Rangers 1-1 Nakambala Leopards

Mufulira Blackpool Vs Green Buffaloes
John Kachofa Stadium
15:00hrs
It’s becoming difficult to hope for that first win for Mufulira Blackpool as games start running out. Game number 19, and they only have six draws to their name and 12 losses. It’s becoming extremely difficult for Mufulira Blackpool to get a win. One of the draws that Mufulira Blackpool achieved was against Green Buffaloes at Independence Stadium.

Green Buffaloes will be looking for a ninth win that can take them to 33 points to join ZESCO and can leapfrog Power Dynamos is the Kitwe giants drop any points against Nchanga Rangers.

It’s difficult to bank on Mufulira Blackpool and hence I think it’s another home loss.

MY VERDICT: Mufulira Blackpool 1-2 Green Buffaloes
*******************************

Green Eagles Vs Nkana
Independence Stadium
Choma
15:00hrs
There is no more room for error for Nkana, they need a perfect run to have any chance of winning the title and that will happen with a strict eye on what ZANANCO will be doing the other side.
This trio is not easy for Nkana and as Green Eagles will be a serious threat once again in Choma.
Nkana has three losses and two wins in the last five encounters and they meet Green Eagles with exact same statistics in the last 11 games. We have had 3 wins, 5 losses and 3 draws in those 11 games. Nkana has never won a game away at Green Eagles but they have drawn four times and lost once. The other two losses were in Kitwe.

It’s that tight and if there is a game that Green Eagles wouldn’t want to lose is this one after gaining a point off Green Buffaloes away at Independence Stadium in week 18, they will think they stand a better chance of getting three points in this encounter. Satchmo CHakawa is back in goal for Green Eagles and his experience already showed against Green Buffaloes. This will be a tough one for Nkana and I think I just think, Green Eagles will bag this one.

MY VERDICT: Green Eagles 1-0 Nkana.

SUNDAY 24th

Lusaka Tigers Vs ZANACO
Nkolama Stadium
13:00hrs
Live on Supersport

Lusaka Tigers would have hoped this game is played at Independence Stadium but then TV Rights have brought them to Nkoloma and playing ZANACO one has to have a lot belief to think Tigers can actually get anything from this encounter.
Lusaka Tigers play ZANACO the sharpest striking force in the league with 36 goals and the best defensive team with only 6 goals conceded.

Tigers dropped in the relegation zone but should they defy the odds and beat ZANACO whole Lusaka Dynamos and Lumwana Radiants lose then Tigers may just get off the relegation zone.

I don’t see that happening though and the first season played at Sunset, ZANACO beat Tigers 2-0 goals coming from Potipher and Dave Daka. Will see a couple of goals again.

MY VERDICT: Lusaka Tigers 0-3 ZANACO
********************************
Red Arrows Vs Lumwana Radiants
Nkoloma Stadium
15:00hrs
Live on Supersport
Red Arrows flew to Solwezi and connected to Lumwana in the first encounter of the 2016 FAZ MTN Super league with Bruce Musankanya scoring for Red Arrows and it looked like the season would be back on track after a poor showing in the 2015 season. But Lebanon Lungu equalized for Lumwana Radiants to push the game to a 1-1 draw.

Bruce Musankanya would get injured and miss as many games while Lumwana Radiants would have mixed results on the road and home to eventually push the team into relegation zone. Lumwana are no longer in the relegation zone and they are away to Red Arrows in the 19th game of the season. The memories of Lumwana in Nkoloma Stadium was in the Barclays Cup quarter final loss to ZANACO and they will hope that doesn’t repeat itself or else they will think Nkoloma Stadium is no go area for the team.

Red Arrows may not be playing well but at home they rarely drop points and they will be favourite to win this encounter.

MY VERDICT: Red Arrows 2-0 Lumwana Radiants
