MTN FAZ SUPER LEAGUE WEEK 26 PROSPECTS
FAZ MTN Super league gets back to action after a one week break and we have big games to look forward to which may determine a lot of movements at both ends of the table.
TOP FOUR
ZANANCO have done enough at present to stay top even when they are to lose away to Nakambala Leopards. They wouldn’t want though to take those chances with ZESCO still counting on those games in hand. ZANACO enjoy a five point lead against Nkana who have even played one game more than the Bankers. For Nakambala a win would start relief mode of staying another season in the super league.
Nkana are at home to the depressed GBFC who have had a very bad run in recent games and they will look at this fixture to be a turning point. GBFC is the team that ended Nkana’s unbeaten run this season when they beat them 3-1 at Independence Stadium and how they would love to do a double. But Bonwell Mwape has started scoring and GBFC do not look like a team that can actually win a game currently. They look so depressed.
Power Dynamos have a tricky encounter against relegation threatened Nkwazi away in Lusaka and without a doubt, Power Dynamos under Dan Kabwe have hit a very good run with inform Patson Daka proving everyone wrong with his scoring boots and am sure that game will attract a lot of support from Power Dynamos supporters. They are good when their team is doing fine. But Nkwazi are desperately to break through 30 point marks and start reducing the pressure of relegation. They won’t be an easy side to beat especially at Edwin Imboela
Third Placed and Fourth placed ZESCO United are off this weekend as the defending champions will be negotiating passage to the finals of the CAF Champions League in South Africa.
BOTTOM FOUR
Only Lusaka Tigers and Mufulira Blackpool will remain in the Relegation zone even with wins in week 26.
But one of Mufulira Wanderers and Lusaka Dynamos will still be friends of the bottom two in the RED ZONE.
For me the game of the weekend will be at Shinde when Mufulira Wanderers takes on Lusaka Dynamos under new management after the team sacked Silva Jorge and his technical bench. A loser of that encounter will be in the relegation zone and a winner will also have to wait for results involving NAPSA, Forest Rangers, Nkwazi, Lumwana Radiants and Green Eagles. That’s how close the relegation fight is and the winners of this weekend will have some serious hopes of getting off that dreaded zone.
IT’S A WEEKEND WORTH LOOKING FORWARD TO.
