MY VIEW IN THE FAZ MTN SUPER LEAGUE IN WEEK 27

Two games are off due to the National Team engagement and these are ZANACO Vs Lumwana Radiants and Lusaka Tigers Vs ZESCO United. This adds to the five games in hand that ZESCO United have and Lumwana Radiants in also in the situation of adding up to the one they have against ZESCO United.

Green Buffaloes Vs Mufulira Wanderers
Independence Stadium
15:00hrs
Green Buffaloes are hoping to continue going up and end the season in a better position but Mufulira Wanderers are in hurry to pick any points that could help them survive relegation. This is a must win game for Mufulira Wanderers than it is for Green Buffaloes. But from the time Mufulira Wanderers came back to the Super League, they have not been able to beat Green Buffaloes in their last three games and that will be advantage GBFC. In those last three games Green Buffaloes has scored four and only allowed one, they collected nine points and the six were received humbly at Shinde Stadium.

But these are just statistics and they can change with time especially with the urge for Mufulira Wanderers to get off the relegation zone. This can also work against the team because there will be so much pressure in the team that do not look so confident at the moment. The last time they visited Independence Stadium, Mighty lost to Lusaka Tigers 2-0.

It’s a big task and I don’t see Mufulira Wanderers beating GBFC at Independence Stadium this Wednesday and that does not mean the team will be relegated yet. The teams in the relegation zone have equally tough fixtures but these are the games to turn up and show seriousness if you want to survive relegation. It doesn’t look good for Mighty because even the players look a bit lost for now.

MY VERDICT: Green Buffaloes 3-0 Mufulira Wanderers

Green Eagles Vs Nkwazi
Independence Stadium-Choma
15:00hrs
Another relegation threatened team in Green Eagles welcome the getting in form Nkwazi in Choma and I bet this will be an interesting fixture. Green Eagles are in the points of relegation zone and are only above Mufulira Wanderers thanks to two goals. Should Nkwazi beat Green Eagles with more than two goals even if Mufulira Wanderers were to lose to Green Buffaloes, they would exchange positions Eagles.

Am sure Green Eagles are aware of such a scenario and worse off is Mighty Mufulira Wanderers picks appoint in Lusaka and Nkwazi beat Green Eagles, then the Choma outfit would drop into relegation zone. It’s very close and tight at the bottom and that makes the games at the bottom more interesting than those at the top of the table.

The last 7 games between these games have very interesting statistics. They are all the same, winning three, losing three and drawing one. All the same. Nkwazi has won one game away in Choma while Green Eagles also have one away victory. The winner of this tie will get the bragging rights on which team is better than the other. It’s a tight call. Nkwazi also needs the three points to make sure they are safe from relegation even with their 31 points, you can never be sure this season.

But Green Eagles are not a push over at home and Greenwell Witika showed last weekend that he is a player perhaps people should start looking out for. Green Eagles have one of the best goal keepers in the country in Satchmo Chakawa and he will be key again in this encounter.

I think Eagles will win this one.

MY VERDICT: Green Eagles 1-0 Nkwazi

Mufulira Blackpool Vs Forest Rangers
John Kachofa Stadium
15:00hrs
In Week 26 I said Mufulira Blackpool would no longer be an easy side to beat because they are playing with so freedom now because they know their season has crumbled and they are going down to the zones. Even when I predicted that they would fall to Red Arrows they proved me wrong. They held Red Arrows away 1-1. They welcome Forest Rangers who are also in danger of drifting down should other teams around them pick maximum points. Forest Rangers beat Mufulira Blackpool 1-0. Blackpool are still looking for a first victory in the super league and several times they have gone ahead but do not know how to sustain the lead. That’s why they are going down the zones. Am hoping this is the time they can actually beat Forest and celebrate the first victory but Felix Nyaenda has 9 goals and that is not good news for Mufulira Blackpool because he doesn’t waste opportunities.

I will go with a home win and Blackpool will celebrate as though they have won the league.

MY VERDICT: Mufulira Blackpool 1-0 Forest Rangers

Kabwe Warriors Vs Red Arrows
Godfrey Chitalu
15:00hrs
The last 17 games between Kabwe Warriors are interesting. both have won five games and drawn seven. But then Kabwe Warriors have not beaten Red Arrows at Godfery Ucar Chitalu since 2010 and that is the hope that the airmen will be hoping continues but then they also have a serious problem this season. Of only scoring one goal a game and that has seriously affected their goal difference. Red Arrows has only managed to score 17 goals and allowed 19. A win this encounter will take them above Kabwe Warriors who are not playing too well all of a sudden and information coming from Kabwe is that Fathy has been given four games ultimatum. Both teams look safe from the relegation battles and that at least reduces pressure but no team would enjoy losing at this crucial stage of the season.

The two teams drew 0-0 when they met at Nkoloma and that was one of the worst games of the 2017 season. Both have to improve and Kabwe Warriors playing at home have the advantage in this encounter but Red Arrows are proving very good at defending while their only challenge is scoring.

With the forms of both teams am thinking it will be another draw.

MY VERDICT: Kabwe Warriors 0-0 Red Arrows
