Nkwazi Vs Mufulira Blackpool

Edwin Imboela Stadium

15:00hrs

This is a massive game for Nkwazi, I think for me they win this one and they stop worrying of relegation, I don’t think if they win this one a team in the bottom four will leapfrog them. Nkwazi has won 7 games and lost 8 but in the process they have drawn 11.

Mufulira Wanderers in the contrast have not won a game and they only have 10 points from 10 draws and one of those draws was a 2-2 draw at home to Nkwazi.

They have lost 17 times and they will enter number 18 this Sunday because I don’t see Nkwazi letting them getting anything at Edwin Imboela. Take note that Mufulira Blackpool is not an easy side to beat anymore but they will lose this one.

MY VERDICT: Nkwazi 3-0 Mufulira Blackpool

Red Arrows Vs Lusaka Tigers

Nkoloma Stadium

15:00hrs

Red Arrows are safe from Relegation and the objective of the team now is to move as high as possible on the log table. They already leapfrogged Kabwe Warriors in week 27 and they start this game on sixth position and they will remain their even with a win against Lusaka Tigers.

Lusaka Tigers are second from bottom and still have a chance of survival but they need to beat Red Arrows to make sure they start a campaign that may see them get off the relegation zone. That is not an easy task and honestly I don’t think they will survive. Lusaka Tigers is going down.

The first game ended 1-1 at Independence Stadium and that game was a comeback for Bruce Musakanya who was coming back from an injury.

If there is a chance that Red Arrows should change their statistics of only scoring one goal per game is this fixture. I think they will manage to score two but then the defense lately hasn’t been good and that will give some confidence to Lusaka Tigers.

MY VERDICT: Red Arrows 2-1 Lusaka Tigers

game-of-the-week

Mufulira Wanderers Vs Nkana

Shinde Stadium

15:00hrs

This is the game of the week for me and the game that I should be making plans to go and watch without a doubt. I hope am going to find my way to Mufulira. I would want to see how Mufulira Wanderers approaches this game looking at the situation where Mighty Mufulira Wanderers are. They lose this one and relegation becomes part of the team without a doubt. Of course they also have to see what happens in other games.

This is no longer issues to do with the coach but it has a lot to do with the players, Mufulira Wanderers are where they are because of the lack of ambition to get players after last season. They needed some players to blend with the youthful side that performed exceptionally well in the 2015 season.

In the past games we have seen the team going down and down and maybe the players have now to take it upon themselves and be counted or else some of them their careers are in danger of going bad. You don’t easily come back from Division One.

The players don’t look the same like the ones that played last season, they look as though they are playing under protest or they are done with the club and will be moving to other clubs. Again this is totally mu observations during the Lusaka Dynamos game and many other games I have watched Mufulira Wanderers this season.

Suleiman to me have to make serious decisions to replace some big names and try some fringe players, it’s a crucial time that needs crucial decision by great coaches.

This is the game they have to win and move out of that relegation zone or else we count Mighty to be in Zone Two of Division One.

So much about Mufulira Wanderers, I think Nkana will approach this game knowing that the promised land is far from being achieved, Nkana cannot win the league this season, they have wasted very good opportunity but again if there is a team that they wouldn’t want to lose to is Mufulira Wanderers. I think Jacob Ngulube will return to his team this weekend and that’s another dimension I would want to see. He was the beloved player and I wish Shinde Stadium gives the young man the befitting welcome.

Back to the game, the last game played at Shinde between these two sides, Mighty won 2-0 but went on to lose at Nkana stadium 3-0.

The first game this season, Nkana won 2-1. It’s too close to call and I think, I just think the day will start well for the Mufulira faithful and they will win this one.

MY VERDICT: Mufulira Wanderers 1-0 Nkana

Nakambala Leopards VS Green Buffaloes

Nakambala Stadium

15:00hrs

Green Buffaloes beat Nakambala Leopards at Independence stadium 2-1 and they meet the same team after failing to win a single game in the last five games. Nakambala has lost two and drawn three in the last five games.

Green Buffaloes meanwhile are coming from two big wins, beating Nkana and Mufulira Wanderers in the last two games. Before those two wins, GBFC had lost three games in a role.  GBFC is seated fourth on the log while Nakambala is seated 12 and in danger of relegation.

News coming from Mazabuka states that Mathews Phiri has taken over at Nakambala Leopards hoping to push the team away from the relegation fears. Should Nakambala lose this game and Mufulira Green Eagles and Mufulira Wanderers pick maximum points then its serious danger for the sugar boys.

AM going for a draw.

MY VERDICT: Nakambala Leopards 1-1 Green Buffaloes

Forest Rangers Vs Kabwe Warriors

Levy Mwanawasa Stadium

15:00hrs

If Forest Rangers were a consistent team this season they would be in the top four, but the Ndola outfit, you cannot tell what they would do at any particular day. I seriously don’t trust Forest Rangers playing at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium and welcoming Kabwe Warriors with three game ultimatum for Fathy is a big task for Forest Rangers.

The last 13 games between these two teams shows Kabwe Warriors winning 6, drawing 5 and losing 2, The last game played in Kabwe Warriors beat Forest Rangers 4-1 and they will be the favorite to get a double over Forest Rangers.

Kabwe Warriors though don’t look sharp in recent games, they have not won any game in the last five, losing one and drawing four while Forest Rangers has one win two loses and two draws.

I think this will be another draw.

MY VERDICT: Forest Rangers 1-1 Kabwe Warriors

Lumwana Radiants Vs Lusaka Dynamos

Lumwana Grounds

15:00hrs

Lusaka Dynamos beat Lumwana Radiants in May 2-0 and Lumwana knows another loss and relegation zone is a possibility. A loss for Lusaka Dynamos sees the Elite stuck in the relegation zone. Too many dimension in this fixture.

Should Lusaka Dynamos win and Nkana beat Mufulira Wanderers in Mufulira the Lusaka Dynamos would have moved out of the relegation zone and push Green Eagles down with Mighty getting further down. Should that result stand then Lumwana would be above Lusaka Dynamos with a point.

Am more interested to see the battle of the coaches here and I think Elijah Chikwanda has a way of soldiering his boys when he is playing away, His teams he coaches, players have no fear and I wonder what he tells them. You could see their mentality at Shinde during that 1-1 draw.

Lumwana Radiants have won two game, drawn two and lost one in the last five while Lusaka Dynamos have one won, lost three and drew one.

So much pressure for survival and these teams may just play to a 1-1 draw.

MY VERDICT:  Lumwana Radiants 1-1 Lusaka Dynamos

Barclays cup (Sunday)

Zesco Vs Konkola Blades

Nkoloma Stadium

15:00hrs

Zesco United are out of the Super League this weekend but they will be engaging Division One Leaders Zone two in the last quarter finals of the 2016 Barclays Cup hoping to get into semifinals and brighten their chances of winning something this season with defending the title of the super league looking a little very farfetched.  Konkola Blades though won’t just lie waiting for the big ZESCO United but will try their luck in a game that will be played in Kitwe at Arthur Davies Stadium.

Blades are scoring a good number of goals in Zone Two Division One but this is a different fixture and ZESCO wouldn’t want to be eliminated in two tournaments under one week. I just don’t see Blades upsetting the odds in this encounter but it will be an interesting game.

MY VERDICT: ZESCO 3-1 Konkola Blades

******************************

What will be interesting will be the relegation fight and that is where the concentration will be this season.

Lets wait and see how the table will look like after these rounds of games!!!
